National Educational Technology Plan

The purpose of the National Educational Technology Plan is to provide a level of technoloogy skills to all students in the nation in order to improve learning. There are 5 goal areas for the plan:
Learning
Teaching
Assessment
Infrastructure
Productivity

In order for all students to learn, there must be common goals and objectives. Even though we teach in a different way, we must be working toward the same goals. This means no child will slip through the cracks along the way and miss an important skill.
Our teaching must be complete and absolute. We must not fail to teach our children to think and apply what they are learning. We must teach them to use technology and find the information they will need.
We must assess to make sure we have taught well and the children have learned the skills we want them to know.
We must have state of the art equipment and programs. Our children will need to be prepared for the workforce and they will need to have the highest level of skills for whatever they choose to do.
We must teach them to use their brain for productive tasks, not just games and videos. They must be willing to search and research for information. They must know how to apply the lessons they have learned in our classrooms.
